What your little G.I.P Laboratry does is absolutely irrelevant. They feed already pre-buttered customers and their moves are not important. Shindo and Cogent do the electromagnets for years but they doe little events with no influence. In high-audio ...

MochaMike, yes you are correct it would not be the “softness” but rather”liquidity”. Still what you are taking is applicable for the paper cone 4 to 15" drivers not compression drivers. Who knows how the compression drivers will react.

audiofilofine, I do not like when they just remove the magnet and to replace it with electromagnet coil. I do feel that in this configuration the coil is not vented well and either the driver has too much thermal stress or it will run only at very lo...

I am not too worried about the 6C33C bass, since I have other alternative. Even if lower loading will improve it, the problem is to get more power out of the 6C33C to a 40W (PSE perhaps) level to be able to drive the 12in or 15in woofer, even then th...

I had to dismantle a friends chuffing PM6A drivers the other day (only to find that the foam spider had disintegrated after 5 years, nice work Lowther) What was interesting, possibly, was the coating that Lowther seem to be applying to the voice coil...

CV,All that you point to is quite correct. My comments were based strictly upon which coil voltage would be a superior sounding electromagnet. The only benefit I can see to a higher voltage is the faster rise time in the voice coil of the induced EM...

I would like to expense a bit on my post above. If we presume that a warmed up, hot magnet (electromagnet) radiate a magnetic field of different type and those “hot filed” have some kind of positive effect to sound then there is a possibility of mode...
